5 Sim Racing Setup Tips That Will Shave Seconds Off Your Lap Times

You don't need a new wheel base to go faster. Often it's the small setup details that unlock the seconds. Here are five we recommend to every driver who books a session with us.

1. Set your pedal distance first

Your braking consistency depends on a repeatable pedal position. Set the load cell pedal so your knee is slightly bent at full brake — not stretched, not cramped. Lock it down and stop fiddling.

2. Get your eye line right

Your monitor's centre should sit roughly where the windscreen would be — about level with your natural gaze, slightly above the dash. A few degrees too high or low throws off your braking reference.

3>Turn down the force feedback

Most beginners run FFB far too strong. You want detail, not resistance. Back it off until you can feel the kerbs and the wheel go light under load without fighting the motor.

4. Learn to trail brake

Modulate the brake as you turn in, trailing it off smoothly. It rotates the car into the apex and is the single biggest time-saver for most drivers.

5. Practice one corner at a time

Stop hot-lapping. Pick the corner you lose the most time in, repeat it until it's consistent, then move on. Mastery beats mileage.
